Welcome

My eyes have led me down a path I never thought I would take. Although holding on to memories has always been important to me, I haven’t dreamed of being a photographer my whole life. I have, however, dreamed of keeping my kids small and my vacations alive. I have wished to stop time, to hold on to the moment, to bottle up my kids cute faces or the silly things they wear. To some extent, photography allows me to do just that. It has opened my eyes to a previously undiscovered world. It has allowed me to see the world around me with a deeper appreciation. I am constantly aware of the extraordinary among the ordinary and the beauty in the mundane. I don't see pictures. I see stories ... with both my eyes and my heart. I am a wordless storyteller. Thanks for joining me here.

Michael + Rachel = 4ever [Engaged]

What fun it was for me to walk around and get to know these two a little bit better. Not only can Rachel say the alphabet backwards in seriously less than a few seconds, she is so sweet and kind. And Michael, a former college "rapper" and current teacher and worship leader, is surprisingly reserved and sweet himself. Here are a few shots from our time together.

I called these two one sunny morning in December and asked them spur of the moment if they wanted to grab a few shots as it was going to be warm and sunny. Not only did they get ready in a few hours, they went out and made these frame for save the dates - matching their wedding colors! Pretty creative I thought! Looking forward to 5.11.13. :)

Three Handsome Boys [Family]

My husband grew up in a family with 3 boys. I imagine it must be pretty awesome to grow up with two brothers. Probably awesome ~ mixed in with wrestling and strange bodily noises. I am just guessing. Aren't these boys handsome?
I am also wondering if mom, although outnumbered, is a little spoiled by all these protective men/young men.
Here is the sweet mamma with her youngest....
...if only we could keep them young for longer...
See I told you they were handsome...
...and I know these boys.... they are sweet too. Thanks for a beautiful evening walking through the park and capturing memories. Many blessings to your family!

The Story of a Two Year Old [Family]

Once upon a time, there was a little girl. This is her last year, below. Isn't she sweet?
Like many little girls, she grew and grew over the last year to be two years old. She grew longer golden locks and wears barettes now.
Her eyelashes seem longer and sweeter.
This little girl LOVES to play hide and seek...
And she gets SO excited when she thinks she might find someone...
especially if it is her daddy!
She likes to giggle with mommy....
and slide down the slides.
She knows she can count on her parents to steady her and to always lend a hand.
She enjoys reading in her spare time, AND she just recently learned to
spin the wheel in one of her favorite books. She is getting so smart!
She also like to play peekaboo in the tire swing, BUT best of all...
She has a smile that can light up any room or playground anywhere! Thanks for letting me spend a day with you sweet little girl! I can't wait to see how you grow next year!

Mark and Kelly [Family]

What a beautiful day we had for a day of photo shoots! Thanks to Mark and Kelly and their boys for helping me to get some excellent shots of their family and their sweet puppy ;).
After reading a wonderful article on moms being in photos, I think I am going to try to grab at least one photo of mom at every shoot. Here is Kelly...Isn't she beautiful?

Mandy & Josh [Wedding]

Some couples seem to made for each other. They love to be together and play together and are so ready to live life together. Mandy and Josh are like that. Almost one month ago, they were married. It was supposed to be an outdoor ceremony but weather dictated a quick change in plans. Mandy, a talented graphic designer, had thought through so many gorgeous details such as the surprise embroidery on Josh's handkerchief...
and the fun guest book too. (Isn't this a great idea???)
Amy, her wedding coordinator from Skylar Weddings, also put together gorgeous bouquets for the ladies.
This ampersand was created by Josh and his grandfather...a memento I am sure they will cherish.
Josh and Mandy were so sweet with each other.
I was there for just a bit of the day and wanted to share a little through my eyes. If you haven't seen the full post, please check out Colleen's post for the full story of the day. Josh and Mandy - Enjoy the years as they go by on your new journey together - thanks for letting me share in your special day!

Audrey [Senior]

I truly enjoy hanging out with seniors for lifestyle images. I love to see the potential and excitement in these young people. I love the freedom to explore. Audrey was a breath of fresh air - peaceful and laid back (and isn't she gorgeous too?). Have a great senior year and enjoy some of your images!
